Eutelsat 5WA satellite

    reposting on foreign satellite forum

    Hi , i bought an ASTON DIVA HD PREMIUM receiver with the Fransat card so i can watch French TV at home. Also got a Technomate 95 cm dish.
    I am having trouble detecting the Eutelsat satellite, all i can get are channels on Nilesat 7W.

    Now according to the dishpointer website the elevation is 28.8 so i have this set correctly using the scale on the dish brackets. The azimut is 180 which is from the North i believe so used a compass to get the dish aligned south.

    Still no signal from Eutelsat 5WA , anynody has any ideas as to what i am doing wrong /

    5W has a strong footprint over Ireland. U should pick it up alot easier than 7W.
    Only thing I can think to help. Turn channel onto free to air channel like France 3 or 4.
    Keep playing with dish until you pick it up.
    Also, there are free apps on iphone & Android which show Sat position in sky on the camera phone which can helps with alignment. Will show you also if there's anything obstructions in path to dish.

    i manage to get it working , the picture is not perfect but i just need to "play" a bit with the dish now. Thanks
