Gaming pc suggestions

So my friend just built a gaming PC and I'm thinking of doing the same. I have the newest macbook pro, which runs a lot of games very well, but I don't want to game on it too much as it becomes a distraction from the work I need to do.

He spent 700, and he bought everything from Komplett.ie, I'm looking to do the same build but I'd like to find the best prices and deals on the parts. So i was wondering if anyone can give me some suggestions where to buy from online? The picture below is the build however its not that case, but rather a cool master silencio 452 i think? and he also got a big heat sink + fan for the processor.

What are you planning on playing? what resolution/fps are you looking for? I usually buy from amazon myself as they are much better in support/returns.

I plan on playing games like dayz, and mainly other games that aren't available on xbox one. Yeah I'm planning on using a site that's cheaper than komplett so I can bring cost down or even get better parts.

That didn't work very well, but the Total is 592 including delivery.

There are better builds available for that kind of money, much better if you'd stretch to €700.

very similar to yours, but I also had a cpu cooler in there. I was looking at the 280x cards, is there much of difference? I obviously want to keep the costs down as much as possible, but now that the build is over 100 euro cheaper, I could maybe go for a better gpu?

The 280X will outpreform the 280 is every respect. Worth the extra few euro I think.

There's an Intel build, better case, better graphics card (The 280X) and an Intel cpu, so if you need to upgrade your cpu, your motherboard will be compatible with this generations most powerful cpu's

I like the look of that! is this intel cpu better than the amd one above? the fact that its so cheap in price compared to other intel cpus, make it look kinda iffy, but then again I've no idea. And yeah I think I will definitely go with the 280x then, I've seen it even cheaper than that elsewhere but I guess I would have to factor in shipping too.

Why not go all AMD? That Intel cpu is only dual core, why not get a FX6300 (6 cores).. This cpu will struggle when newer games start utilising multiple cores (BF4 already does this).

It isn't that much more and you have the extra cores if you want to do heavy stuff (rendering ect).. It also oc well.

I'm all for intel but unless your getting an i5 then it isn't worth it, it's always AMD for budget gaming builds.

For single core preformance, intel pretty much always beats amd. Which is why they're preferable for gaming machines. It's the best budget Intel cpu, and is compatible for motherboards for more powerful chips like the i5 4460 (€175) or i5 4690K (€233).

The Cpu can also be easily overclocked to 4.0gHz on the stock cooler, so you wouldn't have to splash big money on another cooler for it.

gazzamc raises a good point OP. Go for the FX-6300 if you don't want to have to upgrade or OC, or the Intel if you are willing to overclock, and probably upgrade your CPU to keep up with newer games. I realise my CPU advice wasn't spot on

i3 4160. 111. Imo might be better option. Gets same fps as fx But has better future upgrade options.

Either or will be getting around 40- 60 fps on bf4.

Found a build serephucus posted a few days ago that would allow an i5 into this build. It'd mean an mATX MB and case OP? I'll post it when I'm back on the PC later

Managed to pull up a build, running i5 4460 with the 280X, in an mATX case. Total price is €675.

For €20 the i5 is definitely absolutely worth it.

Zalman T1 Plus is the new case anyways

I'm very confused now, haha. cheapest i5 I've found is 179. Mindfactory.de seem to be the cheapest but they don't have some bits that I need like the case and PSU.

Also looking at cases, does an mATX case mean it's one of the boxy type of cases? was looking at the zalman too, it's nice but seems kinda small?

Should I not go for a slightly better MB? with maybe more ram slots to future proof it?
That's definetly the build I want tho! looks great. I may get the case I posted up above because I like the look of it a bit better.

I'd also like to mention that I really appreciate all this help and research! not a lot of people dedicate their time like that to other people. Thank you!

There isn't anything wrong with that MB AFAIK, but you'd need a small one to fit into the case I had chosen.

If you want to go for the BitFenix case then that's perfect, any motherboard will fit into it, and the graphics card will too

Yeah Asrock seem to label Dtx motherboards as matx for some reason, note there are only two pci/pci express slots, whereas normally you would have 3-4 on matx.

Not really an issue unless you are planning to use more add-in cards than that.

Also believe the case is out of stock, so may have to go with a different case, or a different site for the case.

Do they even ship to Ireland mate. For the sake of paying a small bit extra id go with the other site that everyone uses at least you know they are reliable.
