Removal of old heating system

Our house still has a huge electronic heater in the wall next to the kitchen, which was the original heating system [air via vents] when the houses were built, pre central heating. Would anyone know how to go about getting it removed? I've no idea who would / could deal with it. Mods: Please move thread if in wrong forum.…
