    Hi all,
Im looking at getting broadband in a house with no active phone line at the moment
Eircom and vodafone can do this for me but sky cannot as they cannot locate my line as i live in a rural part of the country
If i go with eircom or vodafone and then within 7 days contact sky with my new uan and landline can i switch as its within the cooling off period?
I know its a bit sneaky but sky offer a cheaper package
    Thanks

What happens is the contract to them starts when you ring them up, it typically takes them longer than 7 days to call out so thats past the cooling off period.

Tried to do this myself. Ended up going with sky but it took them 6 weeks to get an engineer out to put in a line and then set me up.

Can you get the uan and landline numbers before the engineer comes out over the phone?

There was a procedure introduced a while ago which means that you must order a new line through the company that you wish to go with.
    So be very careful.

It seems very strange that Sky cannot locate your line if the other companies can.
