Hello all, I'd just like to ask if anyone has bought an engagement ring in Belfast, who it was with and what you thought about the jeweller generally. ie, were you both happy with the service and product?
Any helpful assistance is greatly appreciated.

Does the current exchange rate not make this a bad idea?

No - I buy sterling when the rate is good and keep it in an account up there.

I live in Belfast but am from Dublin. I looked in Lunn's which is run by the same company as Weirs and also looked in Malcom's on Chichester Street. Malcom's were willing to offer a good discount on what they had in stock, whereas Lunn's wouldn't budge on the price. We also looked in Weirs and it was still cheaper to buy up North. In the end I got my rings made as we got much more diamond/ring for the money in comparison to these shops.

    Thanks for all the advice.

    (I'm engaged!!) :)

Visited x4 places in Belfast and x6 in Dublin. The service in Weirs was excellent and they were most accomodating. Very happy!
