Theyre available alright, but they lift at the wheel, not a big fan of that.

To be honest I wouldn't see these as being much of an improvement on the jacks.
600mm isn't very high and access to the underside of the car wouldn't be great because of the ramps etc
They would probably be OK for certain jobs e.g brakes/suspension but some of the sites I was reading up on in the past were suggesting them for tyre bays/brakes etc.
Even though I'm just a DIYer a number of years ago I decided to buy a 2 post lift as I had enough of lying in the wet etc . It was great and you had great access to all of the underside of the car .
The year after I bought the 2 poster I bought a Land Rover Discovery and found that I couldn't safely put the Disco on it due to the chassis configuration. I then invested in a 4 post lift from the USA ( sounds daft I know :D).
I use the 4 poster most of the time now and the 2 poster ended up doing very little . A friend was buying it off me for 1500 ( its rated at 3200Kg) but doesn't know when he'll have the garage for it - if ever .
You may not have anywhere to put a lift at the moment - but it would be the way to go .
There is a company called Redmount up around Drogheda or that area and they have a good selection - and I presume you could call in to see them. It was from them I bought my 2 poster and they were fine to deal with - delivered it here to the house for me.

Unfortunately I've only got a front garden and a 4 foot wide side entrance (covered, where my tool box stays) so a permanent lift isn't going to be a runner at any stage . Portable mid rise is the best I'm going to get. At least with a couple of feet of lift I can get under with a creeper and stay off the for ground.
