All year cycling waterproof jacket

    Hey all

I have spent a couple of hours researching the above.
A couple of jackets looked good. The altura varium and altura nevis. Also the Dhb flashlight.

Ideally I want a light waterproof jacket that could be worn year round. If it is cold I can put extra layers underneath. Also something that will wash well as my bike doesn't have mudguards.
I could go for a cheap waterproof one but they hold the sweat inside.
I know this question is asked a lot so appreciate replies.

As jackets go... Cheap, waterproof, breathable. Pick 2.

In my experience you can't get a cheap waterproof jacket that also breaths well - waterproof, breathable, cheap ... pick two!

I'd agree with ye as I do a bit of walking/hiking and I went through the same process of buying a jacket for that.
The altura looks a lovely jacket but I think it is around the 100 mark or more.
Ideally the jacket would be yellow so it would ensure I am very visible although there are some nice blue and red ones out there too.
I always want to get use out of something I buy so I was thinking I might get one which I could use for walking too. But maybe that is going too far.

EDIT. Also looking for waterproof overtrousers. Something that would not be too loose.

lot of good reviews on wiggle for the link below @ €37.61 at the moment. Be careful washing as I ruined a DHB Sync jacket in a 40 degree wash.

    update: just bought one

That jacket seems good but it would be too warm for the summer.
The Altura Nevis is the one I am going towards.

Galibier tourmalet gets good reviews and is quite cheap, thinking about getting one myself.

There is no jacket that's good in winter and summer. It's impossible.

I got a Polaris Hexon from Planet X and has kept me dry all winter, but you would need layers underneath for warmth.
