Lads, anyone know of a hand wash car wash in Dublin(preferably South Dublin) where they do the work for you. All the older threads have closed spots.

    Thanks

There's an Apple green on the Stillorgan dual carriageway, just South (towards UCD) of Booterstown avenue that does an excellent handwash for 8 euro if you buy a tank of fuel

Clonskeagh. There is on where use to be a shell garage now its just for washing and valeting.

Busy spot used them before for a merc which was a smokers car for 10 years and not much trace after job done there.

Elite auto clean are the leaders in car washed and detailing in Dublin.
Ian's work has been documented on the forum and is second to none.

There standard elite was is cheap enough too.
In Blanch, not far from the M50 exit.

    Is that a serious question?

Someone with years of experience under their belt, using top shelf products, top shelf micro-fiber clothes with no binding on the edges, has a work shop as apposed to a yard.

There's more to a car wash than just a washing a car. Often times these "hand washes" leave your car in a cleaner but worse state than you arrived in. Sponges, scratches, swirl marks. Hell on earth.

What wash do you get? €20 professional? I'm assuming you don't prebook? Much of a queue?

I'd ring ahead as you could be waiting a half hour if you just turn up, there's only space for 1 car to be cleaned at a time.

The €20 is what most people get, you can chat with him and see what would fit your needs though, he's always happy to help.

Do you want a valet or detail? Massive difference but assuming you just want a Valet I use the lads on Nutgrove avenue all the time.

€8 buys a handwash with wash mitt, snowfoam and tar/fallout remover. Great value IMO.

    100% serious question.

If you read the rest of the thread you'll see that some hand washes are absolutely appalling and will inflict surface marring and swirl marks on your car. It is not until 3 months down the line when you encounter a sunny day that you realise.

Mr Smug who drove off thinking he has a clean car will now see a load of spider web type surface destruction on his car, and a €250+ bill to rectify.

All for the bargain price of a tenner.

My question is a 100% serious question; the op will want a good wash, not one where he gets stung and doesn't even realise it until too late.

The thing is though, most people just want the dirt gone. The layman could never justify, let alone see the difference between an €8 and €20 wash and seeing as they don't recognise swirl marks or why they are an issue, they will never be hit with a bill to fix them.

Second the place in Clonskeagh. Basic valet €19 - amazing job on the car.
