Hey folks to start i hope i'm in the right forum section, MOD please move if not thanks.

I've just discovered some items of Jewelery missing from my home, i have content insurance as i live in Council housing. These items are of extreme sentimental value to me as they are from a loved one who is no longer with us. Value is around 5-6k and 1 item is specified on the policy as it was over 3k worth. I'm not sure when they were taken but it was in the last 6 weeks. They are not items i wear reguarly, it has to have been someone known to me who visited the house as there was no break in as there is nothing else missing and they were hidden pretty well.

How do i proceed i'm in complete shock and devastation.

So sorry to hear. You'll need to call the Gards first.

Thanks for that yeah going to report it first thing tomorrow, just devastated on 2 fronts, items gone and somebody i welcomed into my house or one of the my teenagers friends actually going to check some of the places who do that gold buying to see if anyone has brought in anything. Is there any way of checking records of who bought what and where? Long shot i know.

You can try this yourself. Unfortunately, the horse might already have bolted :(. Might be worth mentioning it to the Gards when you speak to them.

    Good luck!

OP, check your insurance policy document, a lot of policies exclude cover for theft by someone you invite into your home.
