I was half thinking of painting the concrete floor in the machinery shed with that special concrete floor paint. does it turn out a good job?

Think it's strong enough alright. Can't tell ya if it would stand up to wheels turning on the spot tho

you would two pack floor paint and etch the floor with muratic acid first for paint to grip apply paint with roller

what would be the main reasons for painting the floors?

think i remember reading somewhere before that it helps reduce dust level in the shed?

To reduce dust just polybond the floor.50 euro would do a fair size of a floor with 2 or 3 coats.Done machinery shed/workshop floor here a few years ago.
Took about 15 mins for each coat(roller with long handle and polybond mixed at I think 5 to 1 in a bucket).Thats for a 3 span 30 foot floor.

Worked well and no dust.Much cheaper than floor paint.

Great job, really lights up shed and keeps down dust, cheap low quality paint would be just fine for machinery shed, you could go for a high quality polyurathane if you wanted. I have graco airless sprayer that puts on a serious coat of paint, <mod snip>
