Looking for someone with experience of ewe not responding to treatment. first vet gave some in vein and some under skin. Second vet 8 hrs later gave all in vein and also treated for twin lamb. Vets used the cal/ mag / phos concentrate.

Posting for a friend and have not seen the ewe. Ewe getting 19% ration for a few weeks and not far off lambing.

symptoms are similar to milk fever

Milk Fever is a lack of calcium. Twin Lamb Disease is a lack of energy. Either can lead to the other. It makes sense to treat for both if both are possibilities.

Lack of response could be 'Fatty Liver' due to excess fat mobilisation clogging up the liver in response to the Twin Lamb Disease. This makes the situation irreversible.

Other cause for lack of response could be that the lambs are now dead and poisoning the ewe. Induction should be considered.
