Moving location of e-fibre router

    Hey,

Currently, my router is just inside my front door, where the Eircom socket is.

I want to move it so my router is under my stairs, as this is where all my CAT6 cables for the various rooms terminate.

My question is - how do I move it? Do I get a long "telephone" cable (sorry, don't know the correct name for it) and run it under to under the stairs?

Could this result in a loss of speed?

Is there a better way to go about this?

    Thanks

I moved mine a few weeks ago, with no bother.

I used that long telephone extension cable, and it's using about 30-40 feet.

Just plugged into the junction box where the Fibre is coming in, and plugged the other end into the Router.

    Still getting 95Mbps.

Run cat5e or cat 6 and terminate it for RJ11 using a single pair and connecting the centre pins. Best resistance to RFI.
