McWilliams came out the morning after the guarantee and said it was a good move by Ireland.

and you could probably dig out plenty more economists that will have said the same, as well as loads that said the opposite.

the biggest mistake McWilliams made is he assumed that FF would do the right thing

that was never going to happen

and FG and labour are no different to FF
