Not sure if this is the right place.

I'm looking to create a printable page for making notes and sketching.

Basically I want say 1/4 of the page blank, 1/4 dot grid, 1/4 lined, 1/4 square grid.
And to be able to drag them top resize or move to what suits best.
I have played about with word and excel but cant work it out.

    Any ideas?

Have you tried image editing software? GIMP is free and all you'd need to do is divide the page in 4 and add images of the correct grids. :)

In word you can do it with text boxes and picture boxes. You can do a similar layout as you can in a DTP package. We used to do it, to print out storyboards. Which we would then draw by hand on afterwards. Scribble notes etc. You can also use tables but that's a bit limiting.

Word (depending on version) can save a word file or a PDF.
