Never funny or amusing and can be misconstrued by subsequent readers.
If I write something I'd prefer it was left as I wrote it and not annoyingly changed to someone else's opinion.

    Another feedback thread?

21 feedback threads started by the OP in 17 months. That's an awful lot of complaining!

Pretty sure this has been covered before. As long as it is not done to intentially make people think you said that then the mods don't mind if I remember correctly.

Harmless enough in the less serious forums, I think it's generally frowned upon in the more high brow discussions -Politics to name but one.

Who elected you monitor of "the facilities"?

I facilitated the position for myself to facilitate the facilitators :D

    Stop abusing the facilities then.

If you call giving feedback in the Feedback Forum "abusing the facilities"I think you may misunderstand its purpose.

How's about you leave the modding to us Timberrrrr?

FYP can be funny amongst friends, but dickish when the person doing it can't construct anything else to counter an argument. Rather than trying to make a blanket rule, I'd maybe naively suggest that people use common sense in determining its intent and try to find one less thing to be wilfully annoyed about where a possibility that no malice was intended.

Personally I find it annoying, but not annoying enough to report or anything like that..

Sometimes it can be a point well made, don't find it annoying personally.

A well timed and clever FYP can be hilarious.

I would ban it. It's the very definition of a strawman argument.

    Edit.

But then I clicked on those links and not so sure now.

There's 250 odd thanks that say plenty of people did enjoy them. I didn't but I'm not going to ban them.

It's a simple little joke that can be very effective if done right. Obviously shouldn't be used in serious discussion but I don't think I've ever seen it in a serious context.

Next up we should look to get rid of YLYL because there was some pictures I didn't find funny.
