As above was looking at a van 4995 plus VAT, do I have to pay the van if I am leaving the country with the van?

    Thanks

    Are you VAT registered here?

Not sure how it works with motors but I buy pc components and electronics from UK & EU suppliers and they remove or don't charge the VAT.

    To do this....
The seller needs to be VAT registered.
The goods need to be for export.
The purchaser needs to be VAT registered in the destination country.

It's an EU thing, not just the UK.

AFAIK when you go to register the van here you will end up paying the vat here if you dont pay the vat there. Either way you get caught for the vat.
If you are registered for vat you dont pay any vat here or in england or you can claim it back.
