So here's my question, could you help me get me a discount? I need to buy a MBP but it's gonna cost me an arm and a leg :(

I know it's a big ask but it would be really awesome if you could help a guy out!

    Just throwing it out there,

    Fingers crossed lol

    Apple don't do discounts unfortunately!

What you could do is check out their refurb store. It's stuff that people have bought and returned. It's all checked and verified by Apple so it's literally as good as new but you save a few hundred quid.

Get a teacher or student to buy it for you. Education discount is about 10%.

You get someone you know that owns, manages a company, self employed etc to buy computer through company. You give him the cash less 23 % cos he claims the vat back anyway. Every company needs a computer !!!!!

All apple staff get two significant discount allocations (for two products, ie one phone and one ipad) each year, In the past they often used them for family and friends, This is what the OP is referring to.
However they are in much demand and it's rare to find an unused one.

It's the mid 2013 retina version.

Employees do get a discount of 27% on one computer a year. Like hen's teeth, though. Family and friends discount is usually 17%. Apple employees generally wouldn't trust someone they don't know in case it ends up being sold on, and Apple find out.

Look on the refurb store, PC World or Harvey Norman.

    Until they get audited.

Agree, and additional paperwork/admin with no gains to company if the savings are passed straight across to the buyer.

Best bet is simply 2nd hand market. Got a MacAir with just 'x12 battery cycles' from a company whom where changing over their systems, receipt and warranty verified on site. Saving 40% of RRP. So about another 900 charges left on it until needs battery replacement.

Else Refurb or trip to US if the $ drops.

If you can't afford it then don't buy it.

You don't NEED a MBP, you just think you do. There are probably cheap alternatives available for what you want to do.

Not to be harsh here but buy it properly from the Apple web store.

Everyone else had to, why should you be any different?
