I.D. these remains please

Came across a fox having a go at these remains last week whilst hunting( didn't get a shot at fox though

)
It looks like sheep but thing is there no sheep farmers in this area for miles. It's all cattle ground

Looks like a goat, probably a kid.

Too much wool so unlikely a goat may be a traditional old breed. Leg looks big so looks like an adult may have died or more likly killed by dogs and fox was scavanging

No goats in this area at all. But there's also no sheep for miles. Would a farmer somewhere else just dumped a old body there?

Possible or the sheep had broken out and went rambling

Either stray sheep, or a carcass that was dumped in the woods I'd say. Fox isn't going to drag remains too far - they usually scavenge on the spot.

Is it snow or wool? It could be a calf.

It's fur of some sort.
The size of the hoof made me think calf because there's no sheep around the area at all.

Looks to be wool, you wouldn't get that amount of fur/hair pulled off a calf. Texture looks like wool too.

I'd say it was dumped, far from where it had died in case colour markings on the wool was recognised by others.
