How much (ball park) petrol money would it take to do a round trip to Dundalk?

    Cheers.

Between 5 and 100 euro, depending on what you are driving.

You might be better asking in the Commuting and Transport forum? http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=246

I'm already regretting using after hours for this one

Going straight there and back would be cheaper than going round.

    Total distance is 170km

    Say car does 6.0l/100km

    So 10.2 litres of petrol

    around 13 euro

Ah we're a helpful bunch here, we just need more info, what you drive, what's in the boot, how heavy your foot is, is there a head wind, what psi is in your tyres, awful lot of variables in the fuel consumption ballpark.

Don't forget to factor in the emotional toll of a trip to DK

What the car can do and what the driver are two different things ;)

X/Y x Z Where X equals how many miles it is, Y equals miles per gallon/litre that you get from your car and Z equals cost of petrol. Simple !! :D

    Short answer?? Haven't a clue..

You'll have to pay the troll toll as well afaik.

Get a diesel, it'll be cheaper.
Especially the washed stuff up around the border.

Even if you posted that in motors they'd be all over ya...

What car is it? What engine? etc...

Ball park 15 - 20 quid or anything in or around 1.5 - 2 litres

Since you don't have a clue, I reckon it's a one litre Nissan Micra and the answer would be around a tenner.

Are you going through Spain first or detouring through Scotland maybe? This will affect the cost.

Depends on the car. It's about an hours drive from North Dublin IIRC.
