Good quality men's shirts - where to buy?

I have a couple of Thomas Pink shirts and find the quality really outstanding. For a plain single-coloured shirt, I think the quality of the fabric is really imporant, particulalry with white shirts to ensure they're not see through. But it seems hard to find white shirts that aren't really thin, see-through material.

While Pink white shirts like this are fantastic, they're very expensive. I'd love to find a place that sells really high quality shirts but for a bit less than Pink prices, e.g. in the 70-100 euro ballpark. Do they exist or if you want a shirt like Harvey out of Suits do you need a bank account like his too?

I agree with Easy Rider....I really like TM Lewin shirts and haven't found better for the price

Also, I chose the Super fitted shirts from the site. I go for slim fit myself, but I guess what type of body shape you have. I am slim enough and the slim fit is fine for me.

Poplin is in general the thin material, more breathable and I have a couple for summer, but like you I would prefer the twill.

TM Lewin shirts are good for the price. If you want a slim fitted shirt go for the super fitted option on the site.

TM Lewin shirts are excellent quality. They have a permanent deal where you can get 4 for €120, or something along those lines.

They're a hoor to iron though!

Thanks folks, seems a lot of people have positive existence with TM Lewin. Have any of you tried both a Pink and a TM shirt, word be good to know how it compares? I ask as it almost seems to good to be true that TM shirts could be similar quality for such low cost. I'd prefer 2 excrement quality shirts than 4 decent ones, but comments suggest TM are very good. Will probably buy one to check them out and then maybe invest in others depending on how that goes. Anywhere in Dublin stock them? Will order online if not. Thanks

I used to love TM shirts, but found the quality has got worse over the past few years and they are terrible to iron.

M&S top end shirts (sartorial) are excellent I find, and have different style fits.

In my opinion the Thomas Pink are far better quality than TM Lewin, and are much longer lasting. The extra cost is worth it, but also a good idea is to sign up to the website so that you are alerted to their sales, when you can get their shirts for up to 50% off.

I have tried Pink and did not like the fit to be honest, quality was okay. It depends what material you go for with TM Lewin as they are not all equal, poplin shirts are a nightmare to iron, but the twill and the non-iron shirts are fine. I found the slim fit was just right for me, have not tried to super fitted shirts in a few years but found them supper tight, fine if that's the look you are going for but sitting at a desk most of the day I prefer a bit of give.

There is a TM lewin store in town, south anne street. House of Fraser in Dundrum also had an area for them, so maybe try there too.

But if you are happy with Pink why change? Maybe just buy one every couple of months and you will build up a good rotation of shirts.

Wanted to update on this. Went into the TM Lewin shop in town and was most impressed with the quality of service and the product. Bought 4 shirts and was happy with them all (found Fully Fitted best option for me, great they have several fits to choose from). Wore a blue Non-Iron one to a wedding the other day and was delighted with it - didn't overheat and it was as crisp at the end of the day as it was at the start, really excellent.

Will order a few more non-iron ones online and collect them in-store. While I still like having a good Pink white shirt, I now don't feel any need to pay the extra for Pink as TM Lewin quality is only marginally less and the non-iron and range of fits (I have to get Pink shirts tailored due to length of the arms) make it a very strong choice, even before the excellent value price is factored in. Thanks for the tip folks!

Haven't got shirts from them before but after how highly they have been spoken about in this thread they will definitely be my first port of call next time I am buying!

    2 excrement quality

    What does this mean

I was a habitual Pink wearer, back in the day I would have up to 10 shirts at a time in my wardrobe from there (this was back when they cost £70 (punts). However nowadays, with a price tag of €125, while ultimately probably the same as the original price, has just put me right off buying them.

So I too go for TM Lewin. For me, I like the fully cutaway collar, and TM Lewin do shirts in this style (only white or light blue, but that's fine by me). I've had other shirts but keep going back to the TM Lewin, slim fit, full cutaway collar. My only wish was they they did more styles with this collar.

If you're happy to stay around the Thomas Pink price bracket, it might be worth looking into having some shirts fitted shirts made. Provides a lot of variation as regards what you want collar/cuff/fabric wise, while also generally fitting much better than shop-bought shirts (if you get your measures right). Worth looking into a few different ones as some might be better quality than others.

Check out Brooks Brothers shirts in Kildare Village. I found TM Lewin are very difficult to iron and crease very easily.
