    Hi all,

got a letter today informing me that my bord bia Beef Quality Scheme check is due again in a few weeks... they asked if I'd like to also have this new dairy check on the same day....?

Not sure.... I mean I'm under no obligation to do this dairy check at this moment as far as I can deduce.... I've heard there's a slow uptake in farmers doing it... besides there doesn't seem to be anything saying this dairy check is compulsory or dairy certification needs to be attained by a certain deadline from the documentation I received???

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers;)

We did it in Jan, there isn't a whole pile to it over and above the beef one bar making sure the dairy is sealed and recording tubes etc and withdrawal dates and when it's ok to let in to tank or factory. The idea I think is to give our product a greater traceability and therefore give buyers another reason to purchase it. If your in the beef one may as well do it and have it out the way for 18 months
