    Lads,

What prices are Silage/Haylage bales going for nowadays ?

I note that Spring has sprung sotospeak ..and with the mild weather there is a bit of grass growth on the land now... so the demand is dwindling

depends on quality, silage was selling up north here for £15-20 depending on quality, probably around 25 euro if you convert

    Thanks Dave,

I know there are factors like transport and quantity etc. , but was just looking for the basic price per bale that people are buying/selling for ? outside of paying/charging for delivery and quantity discounts etc. Lets assume all quality is pretty good, last Summer gave a decent chance for harvesting.

Small surplus here, maybe 20-25 bales, I'll be asking €20, come and load yourself, money before they leave the yard.

Have a look on donedeal, €20 seems to be the average. I'm getting some off the next door neighbour for that. You might get them for less.

Their is lots of beat around that has to be used and xan be got very reasonable at the moment so 18 is the price of good silage atm
But however in 2-3 week that could be a very different story if growth does not appear
I also think noone can predict that

€25:eek::eek: If that fella looked around any bit, he could have got them a lot cheaper.

Surely the quality of stuff in the bales has to be taken into account. Top quality bales at €30 could be better value than sh1te bales at €15.
Some lads that make bales to sell them don't care about quality, the more bales/acre the better for them.
