Myself and my partner are expecting our first child in May we are both students and receiving BTEA we are also recieving rent allowance. We have made enquiries about assistance towards the purchasing of a pram or cot for the new born. The woman in the SW office gave us a supplementary allowance form and we have go to 2 baby shops and get quotes for a pram and cot.

The question I have is will we receive a cheque for these items or will the SW pay the shop directly?

You'll probably get a cheque made out to the shop which has the cheapest quote.

That's how it worked for us 2 years ago
