I usually use Amazon, or buy direct from Masters of Cinema, but are there any better sites that I'm missing out on?

I usually buy from eBay, mostly from the 'Entertainment Store', or when there are bargains on Amazon. Other than that I've bought from HMV/Xtravisions bluray deals like 4 for €30 and 2 3D for €30, but it seems like a lot of movies I actually want from them aren't in stock

MovieMail is the only other one I really use (bar maybe yesasia from time to time for imports). They actually tend to be a bit more expensive than Amazon, but they're known as a more 'ethical' business if that influences your decision.

For budget buys xvmarketplace.ie is good. They are run by Xtra Vision and they basically sell ex rentals and discs are checked over before dispatch and have a 6 month guarantee.

I do all my purchasing via Amazon. Plenty of deals and typically you can get really good prices. They've also opened a new warehouse in Dublin, which will forward stock a lot of things like DVD,s Blurays and Books, so you'll get delivery even faster.

I did pickup four blurays in Golden Discs two weekends ago for €40 which was decent enough. Just priced €9.99 individually. Selection was meh, but I was after some well knows ( Batman trilogy and man of steel)

Many HMV's are gone but some are back. Liffey Valley the only accessible one for me with work, and I picked up Seven and The Lost Boys for the misses for €20 last week. Most titles are €9.99, they have special offers like 4 for €20 and 2 for €15 etc. along with the latest releases.

The options for buying from walkin stores is pretty dire though nowadays. But to be expected with the emergence of the global market online and digital content.

Thanks everyone. I was hoping there was a Book Depository style website, with free delivery, but I guess it keeps coming back to Amazon, especially for some of the more niche releases that I'm after. I know Amazon have free delivery when you spend over £30, but it works to quite expensive when you're only buying one item. I used to get plenty of good stuff in the IFI and Tower (even though there was about a 30% mark up on them) but I'm back living in the sticks now. Thanks again.

My purchases of Blu Rays went down when I signed up for netflix and particularly when the likes of HMV closed. Now weirdly I tend to go for Blu rays of DVD's I already own .
My next one will probably be Interstellar, I do miss trawling through them in HMV as I would invariably pick up one more often than not.
I tend to now when passing call into the likes of Game and Cex and hunt out the bargains there.

Also, check your local library if you live in a reasonably big area/city if it's a modern one because they might have a selection of DVDs and BDs, I checked mine recently for tye first time in years out of curiosity and they honestly had some excellent choices, even 2001: A Space Odyssey and Blade Runner were there.
