I think it is quite good, the costumes are well done, the lighting is fantastic and the sets are furnished well and it makes a change that for once the BBC is not following it's usual stance on quotas although that was changed tonight for a small part. It is a shame that the BBC has to always try to be politically correct and fit some sort of quota into every programme they produce. The effect is often out of kilter and ends up appearing very condescending. The reason that they made such good programmes in the past was because they did not feel it necessary to make everything up to date or have quotas for different social classes etc and just made good programmes. Let us hope that this programme continues as it does and does not feel the need to be too modern in it's approach, there are some of us audience out there that can watch a historical programme without needing modern language interpretation or modern political views.
