    Hey guys,

looking to get the home gym back up. Have a squat rack I got from Irish lifting a few years ago and 140kg of weight. Going to need a good bar that I can use for Squat/DL/OHP and Bench. Also going to need another 100kg of Weights and a Bench.

Where do you guys reccomend I get my gear from? baring in mind Ive read some bad reviews of Irish lifting here and dont want to put money towards something that will just give me a headache down the line.

You could get a good bar fro mm D8 Fitness. Thread somewhere here with someone looking for a bar. Maybe in the Strength & Strength Sports forum.

    Edit: http://touch.boards.ie/thread/2057356484/1

Adverts or DoneDeal worth looking at for plates.

    Just came across this.

    In relation to Olympic bar,

i took advice from boards and went online to d8 fitness. First class bar at 170Euro.

Took a while being posted to the North, but in fairness it was 'An post' arsing about and saying they had dispactched it when they hadn't.

I also went to ebay for loxley lockjaw bar clamps, £12 top job. all these things make the difference.

Again, i recommend d8 fitness for the quality of bar is second to none, and wont be beaten at the price they are

    Howdy Dave,

im gonna bite teh bullet and get the BISON bar from d8 fitness. Any reviews of that one? may as well spend the extra 50 and get a even better bar.

I wasnt really looking at that one if im honest, but the bar i got for E170 has a nice spin on it, when sittinn with 20s on either side you spin them and they go for ages , good for olympic lifts.

I suppose you have to ask if you will lift 1000kg !, 600 kg done me fine and dandy, overkill at that but at least i know if have a good tolerance in there.

personal preference really, but when i was buying a bar , it has to have enclosed bearings, and not a hex nut at the end holding the sleeve on as it will come off. id say your grand with the bar you have picked there,
    Dave
