Am I missing something obvious when crossing junction of Guild Street and Mayor Street LUAS lines?

So you're in a separated cycle lane, beckett bridge is straight ahead of you, and when you get to the junction that LUAS crosses, you come to a set of lights that has a pedestrian\cycle green man?

It does change to green, but rarely – not sure what triggers it. There is a button, but you have to cycle into opposite cycle lane to press it which is bizarre. It seems it was meant to be for pedestrians crossing over from other side. I tried that couple times but most of the time just check the traffic and cycle while its red for pedestrian\cyclists.

I've had the same problem in the past there. It's clear that whoever designed it hadn't been on a bike in a while. The red signal can last over two minutes iirc. And even if you were inclined to chance it, there's no way to comfortably get into the carriageway. Total mess that will not be resolved for a long time.

No-one cares about these things. It's the so-what generation.
