    Looking to buy an A6, 2011-2012 (C7).

I am looking at the 3.0TDI, auto SE.. non quatro.

Anything I should look out for? I can't find many know issues about them online.

That model has the multitronic cvt gearbox I think.
Some people don't like the way it makes the car drive as holds the revs at a constant level.
Surprised nobody else has replied to you as usually you have people telling prospective a6 purchasers to get Quattro if going for the 3.0 litre.

Quatro would be nice but out of my price range (30k).

Interested to hear which one you eventually went for.
Photos would be nice when you get it.

Will stick up a few pictures next week, standard enough spec SE 3.0 TDI.

Was interested in one of these but the only ones available were multitronic rather than the newer S-Tronic. I've heard alot of bad stories about the multitronic box.

I did quite a bit of reading on the multitronic, the 2005 era boxes were apparently pretty unreliable but the current generation are meant to be better.

Checked the service history on the car with Audi and the gearbox oil has been changed so I am happy enough.

I wasn't sold on the CVT until I drove it but it is comparable to the 5 series auto.

No, but you've saved me a trip this weekend though. Well wear!

Possibly not the right time to post this.....

We've a 2012 3.0Tdi FWD doing big enough mileage. Going through a full set of tyres every 30k, like clockwork (and it's an S-Line with 20's, so that's not cheap).

All was going well until 95k, then had the waterpump replaced under warranty. At 120k, the gearbox shat itself, just outside of Belfast, on the route of a Royal Visit..... Had a PSNI car parked behind it for 3 hours with the blues on, while waiting for Audi UK assist to pick it up and drop across the border.

2 Weeks off the Road while new box went in to it. Done at least 30k since without issues, and most of the other Multitronic cars we've had have been fine, but we've definitely had issues with at least 1 2.0Tdi 177 A6.

Was that the manual or the mulititronic that shat itself? Actually is the 3.0 TDi available with a manual box? No surprise on the tyres with over 200bhp through the front wheels.

It was a 204ps Multitronic. Have a couple of others with that engine/gearbox and they've been fine so far.

Not that much different than the 177ps Multitronic to drive - I wouldn't pay a big premium for it.
