    So,

I want to go about getting my own herd number. I do not own land so I will have to go about renting land.

Then I presume I'd fill out the ER1 and attach the leasing agreement. Then I get a visit from the dvo inspector. If they are happy that the conditions are met they issue me with the herd number and paperwork.

If I was only keeping stock from February/March to October/November and didn't need housing would I get away with using a portable crush for the purpose of inspection, isolation, loading, unloading, marshalling, watering, feeding, treatment of sick/injured animals....

Am I on the right track or am I completely of track?

    Any advice would be great.

    Cheers RM

You need rented land. Need a shed for sick animal but a mobile crush should do as that's all I had when I started out and I passed with one.
