Carisma Gearbox

    Hi,I'm looking for a bit of knowledge on Mitsubishi's Carisma.Basically friend has bought a 2002 1.3 (privately) and gearbox packed in after 5 days,I have looked online and will be pricing tomorrow.Quick question.

    Will the Lancer or Spacestar gearbox fit the Carisma?
    Will the 1.6 Carisma gearbox fit?

    If anyone has a any info at all I'd be grateful. Martin.

    Space star would but lancer wouldn't AFAIK.
    I think its a renault box.

    Thanks Colm, yes I was told all carisma and s40's have a Renault box but don't want to make the mistake of buying just in case!

    The space star box is also a Renault unit but lancer and colt have Mitsubishi gearboxes which won't fit afaik.
