    I have a quick question ;
    current bike has a mixture of components,
    Micro Shift Shifters / Front Derailleur,
    FSA Chainset,
    Shimano 105 rear derailleur all 10 speed.

    Looking to upgrade to Shimano 105 11 speed, do I need to replace the Chainset and front derailleur or would I be able to get away with just changing the Shifters, rear derailleur and cassette

    Thanks

    I use an 10 speed chainset with 11 speed rear mech. It's fine for me. Not sure if 11 speed shimano shifters have a different form than 10 speed, I haven't been paying attention. I mean: they might have different hoods and be of different lengths away from the bars, or maybe not.

    Oh wait, you want to change from Microshift to Shimano shifters.

    I think the pull ratio on the front Shimano shifters have changed with the later front mechs so you might need to upgrade the front mech if getting the newer shifters.

    I reckon it would be fine. Not ideal but I wouldn't change it unless I had to. I use 10 speed Campag chainset with 11 speed shifters/mechs. It works perfect for me.

    Why don't you get an 11sp cassette and have it to use?

    I only use 11 speed cassettes on that bike. It is the chainset which is 10 speed. Or rather, the chainset was built when there was no 11 speed.
