Can i get the dole?

I am currently taking a year out ofcollege and probably going back in September..I'm 21 and living at home, and I can't find any work..can I get the dole? Or am I entitled to it..when i go into the Welfate Office should I say im actively looking for work?, and how would I say I am?, when I go in I don't really have a clue…
