Reactivating a line with a non-unique address

I've recently moved into a rural house with a non unique address and I'm having great difficulty geting my landline reactivated. I want to go with Sky as I already have a TV package with them, but they cannot identify the line coming into my house. Is there any number or code I could get for my line that would allow them to find my line and where would I get it from?

Any help would be appreciated as I'm stuck with an unreliable mobile connection until I get this sorted.

Is there any dial tone on the line at all? If there is, dial 199000 and it should give you the number.

Do you have the old number? Is there a dial tone?

Connect a handset and try to dial 1777 or 199000.

I have given sky the old number but they can't find the line. There is no dial tone at the moment. The previous occupiers told me they had DSL broadband but got rid of it for wimax about 5 years ago.

I think you will need to go with Eircom first. Sky don't have visibility of inactive lines that don't have unique addresses. The only thing I can think of is ring eircom and ask for the ard key. Sky may be able to find the line this way. Chances are though the line has been disconnected at the exchange.
