most insignificant county in Ireland

What would you consider to be the most insignificant county in Ireland? For me it has to be Longford. Its just a small insignificant county that you never hear anyone saying "im off to Longford for the weekend". Doesn't do great in gaelic or hurling either. Does it have any positives about it? People of Longford, prove me wrong.

Fingal isn't a county. either is wales.

Leitrim is good craic on a night out, Carrick on Shannon mostly. Would agree with Longford though. Just a real dreary place imo.

Yes,see them once and that's it, do large pieces of rock jutting out of the sea change to being spectacular??

Donegal, no motorway or train shows how valuable the government have viewed it in the last few decades.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

Ah for Christ sake it seems to me that any county that isn't Dublin and isn't good at GAA is considered 'insignificant'. Hence why the likes of Carlow, Leitrim and Longford get such rough treatments.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,816 ✭✭✭Baggy Trousers

Not Leitrim - it has Carrick-on-Shannon which is very popular for stags/hens (even though I am not sure why)

It has to be Longford. All land locked are pretty insignificant though.

That makes no sense. Sligo is the most under-rated county in Ireland.

A little bit harsh. Sure, Clare has the Holy Stone of Clanrickart. And the Very Dark Caves. It's almost like being blind.
