Jobseekers benefit strategy?

I was put on a three day week two months ago and have been claiming jobseekers benefit since. But this is only payable for nine months and then I think I'd have to work for four months before I could claim it again? Is that correct or because I am still working a three day week, do I continue to qualify?

The reason I'm wondering is that if I go from benefit to allowance I won't qualify for anything as my husband is working full time and we wouldn't qualify on the means test. I am worried that my job is not safe, having been reduced in pay, put on a three day week and I just can't see it lasting too much longer.

Would I be better off to stop claiming now, and then if I lose the job to be able to claim for nine months for the full jobseekers? Instead of just for the three days as I am now- so 75 versus 188.

If you are working a 3 day week then your benefit will last for 18 months approx as you are not claiming for the full 6 days.
