Broadband only

    Hi i have stand alone broadband when it was installed it was in the way so my friend who works with cctv, sky dishes ect , cut and joined the phone line it's working, my question is will the two joints affect the broadband strength or speed, some things that did work on wifi i had previously now don't work on broadband, it's a eircom line, would I need eircom to replace a full line with no joint, any info would be great
