    Hi.
I was recently advised by a psychiatrist to have the MMPI personality assessments conducted.

Having contacted a wide variety of clinical psychologists however, the feedback I seem to be getting is that these tests would really need to be conducted in a hospital setting.
In any case, the wide range of psychologists I contacted, did not have the facilities or ability to conduct these tests.

I got in touch with local services at the HSE, but it seems the waiting list is vast - more than 12 months.

I'm just considering what other options are available to me?

I know there's St Patricks hospital in Dublin, but I'm actually unable to gain admission there.

Are there any other inpatient facilities I could apply for admission to?
I'm based in the west, but Dublin other otherwise would be fine.

I actually found a website where I was able to complete the MMPI.

If I were to present the results to a private clinical psychologist, would they accept and assess them results as being legitimate, even if they normally didn't run the test themselves?

My issue was actually that I had intended to see a psychologist at the Dean Clinic in Dublin, to have this test done.
But apparently there was some issue with them basically having computers where I could fill out the test.

If I were to present the results, would that be something they would consider assessing?

The MMPI is a really hard assessment tool to get hold of, without the appropriate qualifications and expertise.

You are much better off finding a psychologist to work with, I don't imagine they would take the assessment off you, they may need to sit and provide you with feedback before hand, as part of the assessment process.

The environment in which an assessment is taking, can have implications on the validity, this may not apply to your situation, but it's best to do it under the care of a professional.

    it's online here: http://www.liquidccd.com/mmpi2.htm
Interpretation of scores here: http://faculty.pepperdine.edu/shimels/Courses/Files/MMPI2.pdf If advised to do this by a psychiatrist then you would need to get it interpretted professionally I am sure though.
Takes some time to complete. Interesting. I'm pretty normal - though apparently I try to give the appearance of adequacy and control, so I would say that.

How did you reach the conclusion that it needs to be done in a hospital? It's just an MCQ.
