Ebay return, tracked postage?

    Received an item on eBay yesterday but it wasn't as described- some hair care products that had been previously opened despite being advertised as new. I have contacted seller to ask for a refund. They have responded reasonably and have supplied me with a free post returns label. However, it doesn't seem to be for a tracked service. If I post this using their label and it 'goes missing' where do I stand? Am I then liable?

    Was it tracked when it was sent to you? I suspect not. If it goes missing, claim you never received it in the first place

    It was tracked when sent to me-used that Click and Collect service in Argos (I live in London, not sure if that's offered in Ireland). They have since assured me that I can get proof of postage from the Post Office so I think that should be sufficient?
