News Talk are hosting a lipsync competition for couples. One lesbian couple have decided to pixelate out or conceal their faces as one of them is a teacher in a Catholic school. She can legally be fired from this state sponsored school, yup, legalised discrimination boys and girls.
The next time you hear one of the news stories about what is happening to homosexuals in Russia dont be to quick to judge.

I'm still allowed to judge people based on their entry into a crappy lip-sync competition right?

I'm pretty sure legislation has just been enacted that prohibits dismissal on the grounds of sexual orientation for schools and hospitals.

    Noop.

Religious run places (ie: the bulk of schools & hospitals) are except & allowed to discriminate.

The Law does or did exist but has there been a single case of someone being fired from a teaching position based on their sexuality?

There are things still on the Law books that haven't been enforced in a long, long time.

I give you 7/10 for being over-dramatic...maybe choreograph a dance next time?

it's not just the schools run by churchs etc..
an awful lot of job have clauses related to lifestyle.

However it begs the questions on why somebody who is against the ethos of a certain school would choose to work there and promote that said ethos.

Congrats on the most obtuse thread title ever.

Put the shoe on the other foot, would Russia see the remainder of Ireland's equality legislation in a million years?

The solution to the issue of homosexual staff in religious organisations is to have a secular alternative for those who want it, and for those religious organisations to remain in place for their own followers. It will happen over the next generation but it is both cumbersome and expensive. In the meantime I respect the right of those organisations to observe their ethos, nobody is forcing gay people to work there, and they apply for these posts eyes open.

It's in the Constitution my friend and is part of what makes this country great!

If you're a teacher and you want to work in this country then you will more than likely end up in a religious run school at some point. The bulk of schools are still linked to the church - hence people baptising their kids to get a place in schools even though they themselves are not practicing Catholics.

A lip-sync competition and one of the contestants faces is pixelated out? WTF was the point in entering a lip-sync competition if you can't see them lip sync?

The other one has something between her teeth too, very irritating -

I believe the public will vote the winner from a selected 5 entries so looks like this couple are pulling a stunt, hopefully people can see through what they're doing here.

That's called a gap. I heard she had it deliberately put there to annoy you too.

Dont be to quick to believe it, homosexuality is not illegal in Russia. Promotion of homosexual material to minors is.
