think i saw recently that 55 sq metre is the minimum for an apartment in Dublin .....changed from 38 sq m. So is there a minimum size for building a house?

There are minimum sizes for social and affordable homes which as generally viewed as minimum for all.

But technically there is no minimum size for private dwellings, practicality wins out.

There are minimum size requirements for bedrooms, bathrooms, etc
    ie. You couldn't buikd a 55 Sq. M 3 bedroom house.

You have minimum hall widths and access doors which determine minimum hallways and wheelchair access etc

Let's put it this way, there's wouldn't be many 55Sq. M houses built.
