    Hi all,

I'm looking for peoples opinions on this combi drill.

    http://www.ie.screwfix.com/hitachi-dv18dgl-jc-18v-1-5ah-li-ion-cordless-combi-drill.html

I'd be using it for light but regular DIY work, mostly screwing into wood with occasional masonry drilling. The price seems good for a reputable brand with what seems like good batteries and performance. My budget is about €150 maximum.

I'd appreciate any observations or recommendations of other drills in this price range.

    Thanks.

Good drills. There are the main 3, Makita, dewalt and Hitachi. Hitachi and deWalt are very good. I've had problems with newer makitas as has a few others on here. B&Q usually cheapest for these, but 130 sounds right.

Thanks for that, I'd also considered this drill.

    http://www.caulfieldindustrial.com/makita-8391dwpetk-18v-13mm-combi-cordless-drill-with-101-piece-accessory-kit/p-227941pd.html

The Makita has a 1.3 Ah Ni-Cd battery versus the 1.5 Ah Li-Ion of the Hitachi. My limited knowledge of battery technology leads me to believe that the Hitachi battery is more desirable, lighter, and has better time til discharge.

I'm also a bit wary of any thing that comes with too much "free stuff" in the case of the Makita which leads me to believe that this may be an incentive to sell an inferior or discontinued drill.
