I have recently given an interview, nearly confirming the offer, everything sounds brilliant about this job in customer service at office depot but its for contract[6months], i dont want to lose this job if am willing to ask to make it permanent, what is the best way to ask the employer to give it as permanent?

    Excel at it!

I do't know if you are a native english speaker or not but if you are going into customer service you'd want t brush up on your diction. Your post was almost impossible to read.

If it's a six month contract they will not make it a permanent role from the outset, you'll have to do the six months and see if it's extended.

The only thing permanent as far as I can tell is nothing is permanent. All contract. Enjoy the job. You might get yearly contract.

Are you working in a permanent job at the moment?

If you are, that would be a good reason to turn down a temp contract, or to say to them "I'm permanent where I am. I would love to come and work for you, but only in you can offer me a permanent contract."

yes indeed it was a permanent job with so many benefits that I left because of mad shift pattern ruining my family life.
Oh! so can we ask like that? I don't mind doing so then, thanks a mill for an idea, let me try that way in my next followup

If you've already left the permanent job then you've not got that argument to make

I think you're grasping at straws here

I will leave it to time, lets see!
Not really sticking to this option as only one, I have two other interviews in the line, tomorrow have phone interview for sales consultant and by weekend I will know if am selected for final round about other position.

But Office Depot is handy to travel, timings are brilliant too.

If they offered it as a fixed-term contract, they did so for a reason - quite possibly so that they'd have no obligation to keep you on if you were crap at the job.

Best chance of getting a permanent contract would be to impress them a lot during those six months.

If you're unemployed at the moment, surely a fixed-term contract is better than no job?

I get the impression that you've already asked them to make it permanent; to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if the job disappears altogether after you requesting that - major faux pas, unless perhaps if you were a very highly skilled highly experienced professional working in a very niche sector (and even then, it would most likely be a permanent contract with a six month probation period.)
