That's about right you will get quoted anywhere from 4-6k this isn't something I'd skimp on along with insulation. I'd consider putting in underfloor heating as will work out cheaper in the long run, I'm living in a house with it now and its excellent. Decided for underfloor instead of the solar panels.

What have underfloor heating and solar got in common?

5.5k labour is my quote for full first and second including solar install.

There not really comparable solar panels will mainly heat water similar to an air to water heat pump with underfloor plus don't have radiators which I personally hate the sight of

Exactly. So why choose one over the other. Bring in the heat pump and things change obviously. But very misleading otherwise your first post.

This is what satisfies my needs go away and do some research and see what matches your needs not very misleading at all. Solar panels in my view are not worth the investment. If you could sell units back to a grid then yeah there good but you can't plus amount of sunlight in this country is minimal so all they can do is heat water and in my view are not worth the investment. To the op seriously do your homework on heating systems of all sorts ring around as it can be very costly to change down the road.

    OP E5000 seems about right

@ Shooter with all due respect you are complicating the issue, despite offering some good advice you are talking through your hoop as regards solar

@ OP solar is well worth the investment but as a word of advice solar tubes as opposed to solar panels are more suited to Ireland

No problem. It's just the way you phrased your initial response didn't make a lot of sense is all.
