Automatic Vans? Covert An Auto Space Wagon to Commercial?

Unfortunatley my UK drivers license is automatic only. I don't have time to go do the test for manual and I need a medium size van. I would love a VW Transporter but the autos seem to be the newer ones and alas they are too expensive. Toyota Hiace do come in automatic but I can't seem to find any in the UK or Ireland.

So I started thinking to buy a Honda Stream automatic and remove seats?

I'm a bit lost. Have 5 or 6 grand so spend but the automatic license is holding me back and I have no time to change the license. I know the Mercedes sprinter comes with automatic but have several sources telling me they are no good but maybe a mercedes van would suffice in the short term?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong section but I checked the FAQs etc

Might be worth looking at commercial SUV's, the likes of the Pajero or Land Cruiser come in automatic.

Engine size could be a hassle, I'm trying to keep her as close to 2 litre as possible, impossible to please I am!

Are you thinking engine size for fuel economy? Tbh most vans or 4x4 are going to be poor on mpg especially if automatic.

I can never understand why more vans aren't automatic. Especially the likes of courier ones and ones that spend their life in and around Dublin. But then, in general people seem to put far less thought in to vans and treat them incredibly badly. Strange considering they probably spend much more time in them than their cars.

more for cheap insurance mate but then I am forgetting it is commercial and should be cheap enough anyhow. This is my first commercial if you havent guessed already lol

You could look for a vito automatic too they are a 2.2l, that price range your looking 04-06 maybe. I took 2 as trade ins late last year, an 04 and 05 that were both very good examples. They are sold now tho.

My own crewcab vito is automatic and i love it

Yeah especially driving around dublin, no need for manual really and truly, I do it in a car all day long automatic. I can imagine the pain in the arse it is in a manual
