So I have just had a look back at season 14 of the Ultimate Fighter. For anyone who has seen it, Diego Brando is the standout fighter. It's crazy how much people wrote off him off for the McGregor fight and how when people look back at the fight, how he was a joke opponent, an easy ride for Conor etc. People will always talk about how Conor made Poirier look a joke and what a testament it is to him as a fighter but looking at Diego and what he's capable of. I think the way Conor finished him so easily is a real testament to Conor and his skills

Watching that season of TUF at the time I was convinced that Brandao would be a contender in the division. He looked like a killer in his fights on it, the fighters he beat in TUF all ended up with decent UFC careers. On top of that, the only fighters he has lost to in the UFC are fairly high in the pecking order.
He could probably still get a good run together and get himself in the rankings.

I'm surprised that he didn't try to get that Lenzt fight after his own fight was cancelled last weekend. He had a full training camp, Lentz is ranked around the same as McGregor was when the Brandao fight happened. Instead they'e brought in a guy from outside the promtion to fight Lentz.

Looking at that season it's probably one of the last high caliber ones. It has a current champ in TJ Dillashaw even if he is a boring chap, plus a few top ten fighters, I really like Diego, he was a humble guy after last years fight. Hopefully he gets another fight soon. He definitely does not deserve to be a fight pass prelim fighter.
