Thought this might be a good idea.

Having watched the Irish men at the Armory DMR last weekend and looking forward to watching the women in Boston tonight, I thought it might be a good event that we could organise ourselves over the summer.

    Armory DMR

The format might be open to some debate but I think the standard 1200-400-800-1600 legs should remain. Could do it mixed or have separate mens and womens races? Could organise teams ourselves or maybe put down some predicted times for the legs and try and even out the teams as best as we can.

    Any takers?

What leg would you be going for?

Might also be a good opportunity for people to attempt some of the shorter distances in the 10 numbers threads

Is that the 8th graded? Or would there be a 9th with the DMR as the main draw?

I could see a lot of clubs being interested in that - would probably need a couple of races on the night.

Be great to see an actual additional Relay Graded that could hopefully generate a bit of club interest in the gradeds

Having said that though the DMR on its on would be a very positive addition to the programme

We might need a qualifying time for the 1600 the way things are going around here! ;p

I'd be interested I think it is a great idea.

Either would be great to watch mixed up with a normal programme, but I think you'd get more clubs able to field very strong DMR teams. Could be great!

Seems to be some interest in this. Let's tie some colours to masts and if we have sufficient numbers, then we can see where and when we might hold it.

Meno, I like your idea of having it before the beer mile. That event really needs some classing up :D Might also be nice to run it on a half decent track though. We'll let the public decide.

    Name|400|800|1200|1600
    KielyUnusual|No|No|Yes|Yes

Preference for me would be the 12 or the 16 but I'd run any leg really.

Could be a good way for people to have a craic at ticking off the 10 round numbers as can't see myself getting an 400/800 this year otherwise :D

Preference is the 1600 but would drop down one level.

I would be interested but it depends on location, I'm not going the whole way down to that cinder track on the southside where the beer mile was the first year. Won't put myself down as a definite until that is decided.

Wait this is going to be separate to the Dublin graded one? Count me in for any distance so!

Interested (any distance), but availability probably depends on timing and location.

I'll declare in advance for any Masters' team.

Strategy-wise, I guess it's like the road relays where the longest leg is the most important?

I'll join Sacksian on the oul fellas team, especially if it's part of one of the graded meets. Probably better if I stick to one of the shorter distances, but willing to step up.

BTW probably can not count times for the 10 round numbers with rolling starts and no individual timings?

+1, rolling starts + hand times and you are stealing over a second in the 400m. Relay splits should never count as official.

I'd be interested in running a 400 or 800 for this, but only depending on my racing schedule.
