Currently sending out 1 or 2 items a day via an post. Have had a few items lost though recently, just wondering if there are any alternatives that would be of a similar price or cheaper.

Most of the items are less than 250g, but some are 250-500g. A tracking number would be a bonus. I had a google and cant get any info, was hoping someone with experience could help! Thanks

I do the same but have so far found An Post to be reliable. No one can beat them for price on smaller items which are going by standard post, i.e. 3.60 for a large envelope.

If you provided some more details I can help you. An Post registered is probably your best bet as it covers up to 320 euro of the declared value and it only costs about 9 euro.

The next cheapest options are Parcelmotel and GLS. Parcelmotel costs 14.50, 15.50, and 16.50 depending on size. GLS is 14.50 , 16.50, 21.50 and so on depending on size.

Recently sent 2 items with GLS on a Monday and arrived on the Thursday. Obviously tracking is provided and it covers up to 350 euro while parcel motel only covers 100 unless you pay for extra insurance.

Hey! Thanks ill probably stick with an post. Have you lost anything with them and made a claim? WHat are they like with that? Ive had two things i sent to the uk, standard post non registered that have went missing and im going to fill out their missing enquiry form, do you need the receipt of the stamp do you know?

I'm yet to have something lost with them so I can't help you there, your best bet is to use registered post as you are covered up to 320 euro, but having said that your business model may not be viable paying that much for postage.

I'm afraid to say that if you didn't register them then An Post won't refund your money.

It is a tricky situation that I've been caught up in before. There is a service called Wiseloads who'll send a courier to your home and deliver through Royal Mail. Give them a call and see what you think.
