I ask myself that same question when I see 'new' builds of this ilk!!!!!!

Lot of people cant see beyond the 'planning application' stage IMHO!

Both links bring up Google images of Georgian houses for me. I assume one link is suppose to bring up 'modern' house images. Personally I'd prefer the Georgian.

Sorry about that - the links work for me ( on several devices)

    These give "the flavour"

Does this suggest the modern style is 'better' than the old? Is it not a matter of taste?

Its a matter of personal taste i prefer the modern look but i wouldn't expect everyone to nor would it bother me if i built a house and people didn't like how it looked

Links work for me. I think it depends on the immediate environment to some extent. I like the look of the modern houses, but I have no issues seeing a mixture. Not very keen on those obviously very recently built 'Georgian' houses but actual Georgian, why not?

I prefer modern - but I am sorry if I come accross as saying it is better.
People like what they like and that is how it should be.
I was interested in a show of hands that's all.

Putting money aside i.e. if we won big on Lotto I know many would see this as the dream / fantasy

For me that's grand for the weekend break in a hotel.
This would be my fantasy home though.

    I have seen that page!

That really just goes to show that you can make a complete balls of both 'traditional' design and 'modern' design.

In addition, there are loads of examples of houses/buildings that were probably looking very 'modern' in the '70s...but really look sad and outdated now!
