I would say you would be fine buddy. Depends on your land also. You would need weights on your tractor i would say.

Ive read on here people using old mf 165s etc for moving 1600 gallon tankers about.

Also, is your ford 4wd? I think the bigger tyres on the tankers make for easier pulling.

I'd just hate to buy it and then find out my tractor won't handed handel it yes it is 4wd and I have a full set of weights

im only offering you my opinion, and mayeb some on here might have a tractor and tanker just like what you describe if your lucky and could tell you for definite. Is there any way you could hire on similar or even get a demo and see for yourself.

I know someone who pulls a ruscon 2600 with a mf 3125, but
As i said, its a lot to do with your land, and the size of the wheels on the tank will dictate how easy it will be to pull. cheers

Presumably it has brakes being such a big tank? A full 2000g tank could be weighing around 13tonne. Wouldn't want to be depending on tractor brakes to stop it in an emergency.

Lad on fairly level land near here uses a 2wd ford 66 and 2000 gal tank. All depends on your land, what hp is 7740, around 100? Set of weights would be a big help especially if you use a long drawbar.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Depends on the design of the tanker also, some have much better weight distribution than others which will make a huge difference.

We have a 93 7740 SL and a 1600g redrock tank. Never has any real trouble pulling the tank and I feel it would be able for a 2000g one. And as others have said it depends on how hilly/flat your land is

Big wheels?? How hilly is your land? Have a 4wd 90hp landini and thinking of hiring a 1600 tanker to do our own slurry this year, just don't want to go ploughing either.

We had a blizzard for yrs on our 1600 g
Old farm had a good enough hill on it and never any problems spreading it.
Has Russian tyres but there a **** if ground is any way soft

No. The wheels are like 550/60 x 22.5 . Its mostly flat grazing and silage ground that we spread with it since both tanker and tractor are 20+ years old. The hilly fields are sometimes spread in the summer when the ground is dry and it copes ok.

my biggest question is why has the tank been resprayed when its less than 10 years old? I would have expected nothing to need a respray at that age. it the outside was rusting/ needing paint etc what is the inside like? you don't see many older belmacs around unlike hi specs etc

Got a vision 105 here with decent tires, borrowed the neighbours 1600 gallon tanker early last year, anyone who has seen my farm will know that we don't know the meaning of a hill, but despite this, travelling up one field with a small inclined the tractor started spinning, no way it would go up it. Ended up backing around and spreading it elsewhere, whatever in the soil in that field!

Actually the contractor showed up with a 3500gls tandem axle steered tanker last year, I was well impressed with how little damage that did!
