    Hey all,

Pretty much have a job secured after YEARS of being on social welfare and will be starting very soon. So soon in fact that I haven't saved up any money for the 4/5 weeks between receiving my last social welfare payment and getting my first wages.

So I've read that you can apply for supplementary welfare allowance whilst you're waiting for your first wages. Anyone here have experience of getting this? Can you get it immediately? Is it a loan? I don't know much about it as it seems most of the information is about the period when you finish work and waiting on your first social welfare payment, or waiting on rent supplement etc.

If anyone could share their wisdom that would be fab cheers :)

P.S Not a hope will I be able to get a loan to tide me over. 0 savings.
